[A synthetic, colorless or pale yellow liquid that is insoluble in water and miscible with carbon tetrachloride, chloroform and methylene chloride. TRIS-BP is no longer used in the United States. The primary routes of human exposure to TRIS-BP are inhalation, dermal contact and ingestion. Since this compound is no longer produced in the United States, the risk of exposure is low. However, TRIS-BP persists in fabric and plastics, making occupational and consumer exposure possible. Contact with this chemical can irritate the eyes and skin. It is reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen. (NCI05) ( NCI )]
