MYBBP1A shares approximately 80% amino acid sequence similarity with the mouse and rat Mybbp1a homolog, a ubiquitous nucleolar protein that specifically interacts with leucine zipper motifs in the MYB negative regulatory domain (NRD) to modulate MYB hemopoietic cell proliferation and differentiation activity.
