[G Protein Pathway Suppressor 2 Protein (GPS2), encoded by the GPS2 gene, are two distinct protein isoforms from specified transcript variants. In budding yeast, GPS is a suppressor of lethal G-protein subunit-activating mutations in the pheromone response pathway. In mammalian cells, GPS2 has been shown to suppress RAS- and mitogen-activated protein kinase-mediated signaling and interfere c-Jun N-terminal Kinase activation. GPS2 is also involved in transcriptional activation of papillomavirus genes through its interaction with virus E2 and E6 proteins. (from LocusLink) ( NCI )]
