- 1. EFP
- [Encoded by human ZNF147 Gene (TRIM Family, RING Finger Family), the ubiquitous 630-amino acid 71 kD cytoplasmic estrogen-responsive Zinc Finger Protein 147 has potential DNA-binding and dimerization-transactivation domains, which suggest that ZNF147 may act as a transcription factor similar to other TRIM family members. The TRIM motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a SPRY domain, a RING, a B-Box Type 1 and Type 2, and a coiled-coil region. Zinc Finger Protein 147 is a RING-finger-dependent ubiquitin ligase (E3) that targets proteolysis of 14-3-3-sigma, a negative cell cycle regulator that causes G2 arrest. Lack of EFP function results in 14-3-3-sigma accumulation; 14-3-3-sigma is a target for proteolysis by EFP, leading to cell proliferation.
