1,3-Butadiene
[A synthetic, colorless gas that is practically insoluble in water and soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone and benzene. It is used primarily as a monomer to manufacture many different types of polymers and copolymers and as a chemical intermediate in the production of industrial chemicals. When heated, 1,3-butadiene emits acrid fumes and is flammable. In the presence of air, it oxidizes to form explosive peroxides. The primary route of potential human exposure to this compound is inhalation. Acute exposure to 1,3-butadiene can cause irritation of the eyes, nasal passages and throat. At very high concentrations, inhalation of this gas can result in headache, fatigue, decreased blood pressure and pulse rate, central nervous system damage and unconsciousness. It is known to be a human carcinogen. (NCI05) ( NCI )] (UMLS (NCI) C0043902) =Organic Chemical; Hazardous or Poisonous Substance ;;

1,5-(butylimino)-1,5-dideoxy-D-glucitol
[A synthetic, N-alkylated imino analogue of D-glucose. Miglustat competitively and reversibly binds to and inhibits the activity of UDP-glucose ceramide glucosyltransferase, which catalyzes the initial step in the synthesis of glycosphingolipids (GSL). This leads to a decrease in the production of glycosphingolipid, which has important roles in various cellular processes. Miglustat can be used in substrate reduction therapy in diseases in which the enzyme glucocerebrosidase, that is responsible for the breakdown of GSL, is deficient. 2-Butyl-4-chloro-1-[[2'-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl]methyl]-1H-imidazole-5-methanol, Monopotassium Salt
[The potassium salt form of losartan, a non-peptide angiotensin II antagonist with antihypertensive activity. Losartan potassium selectively and competitively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the angiotensin I (AT1) receptor. Angiotensin II, formed from angiotensin I by angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), stimulates the adrenal cortex to synthesize and secrete aldosterone, which decreases the excretion of sodium and increases the excretion of potassium. Angiotensin II also acts as a vasoconstrictor in vascular smooth muscle. Losartan potassium, by blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT 1 receptor, promotes vasodilatation and decreases the effects of aldosterone. BUB1
[This gene is a modulator of the mitotic spindle cell cycle checkpoint. ( NCI )] (UMLS (NCI) C1332455) BUB1 Budding Uninhibited by Benzimidazoles 1 Homolog Gene;;BUB1 Gene;; =Gene or Genome ;; ◊ [BUB1 Budding Uninhibited by Benzimidazoles 1 Homolog (Yeast), encoded by the human BUB1 gene, is a 120-kD serine/threonine protein kinase. This protein monitors the attachment of chromosomes to spindle poles and may be a component of the mitotic checkpoint that delays anaphase until all chromosomes are properly attached to the mitotic spindle. As part of a common complex in checkpoint-activated cells, Bub1 monitors different spindle events compared to BubR1 and integrates different signals into a single signal that is then relayed to the downstream cell cycle machinery. It interacts with Bub3, CENP-F, CENP-E and mitosin. The BUB1 gene is highly expressed in thymus followed by spleen. Defects in Bub1 are associated with tumor formation. BUB1 Budding Uninhibited by Benzimidazoles 1 Homolog wt Allele
[Human BUB1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 2q14 and is approximately 40 kb in length. This allele, which encodes mitotic checkpoint serine/threonine-protein kinase BUB1 protein, is involved in the regulation of spindle checkpoints and mitotic integrity. Mutations in this gene, which generate allelic variants have been associated with aneuploidy and several forms of cancer.
